The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Agri-Food Robotics (AgriFoRwArdS) is a world-first research initiative dedicated to training the next generation of automation experts for the agricultural and food sectors. A collaborative partnership between the University of Lincoln, the University of Cambridge, and the University of East Anglia, the centre bridges the gap between elite academic research and practical industry needs. Funded by the UK's Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), AgriFoRwArdS focuses on developing advanced robotics and autonomous systems (RAS) to address pressing global issues, including food security, labor shortages, and sustainable farming. By cultivating highly skilled specialists in engineering, research, and leadership, the centre actively drives technological innovation from the laboratory directly into the field.
